Full Audiobook Production

When you want a professional voice actor to bring your words to life, SPS can make it happen. With the Full Audiobook Production package, we'll source talent, coordinate recording, editing, and mastering of audio files, provide quality control at each stage of the process, and upload your finished files to the distributor of your choice.

Total cost for this package varies based on the length of your manuscript. Rates are $350 per finished hour. (Meaning if your finished audiobook is 10 hours, your package cost s $3,500.)

Author Narrated Audiobook Production

There are many reasons an author may choose to narrate their own work. Non-fiction and memoir authors are the experts on their own material and can connect on a new level with their audience. Fiction writers may love to flex their creative muscles and layer intonation and innuendo *just so* into their words. SPS can help you produce a quality audiobook right from your own home with the Author Narrated Audiobook Production package. We start with coaching to help you set up your studio or find local studio space, prepare any equipment or software you need, determine best recording settings for your space, and provide feedback on sample recordings to make sure your files will pass distributors' technical inspections. From there, we'll provide quality control, editing and mastering, and uploading of the finished files to the distributor of your choice. Cost for this package also varies based on the length of your manuscript. Rates are $275 per finished hour. (Your 10-hour book will cost $2750 to produce).

Audiobook Production Coaching

If you're a total DIYer and just need a little coaching to get started, we also provide audiobook coaching at $100 per hour. We can help you pick equipment, set up a recording space, learn the basics for editing and mastering, and give you advice on your files.

How do you know how long your finished audiobook will be? The general rule is 9,400 words per hour in a finished audiobook. So if your book is 60,000 words, your expected run time is roughly 6.5 hours.
